Over time,
higher education institutions have been performed an important role in the
development of societies. Especially, engineering schools, that’ teach
principles for the professional practice of engineering. Throughout the
learning process, students acquire skills, like: problem-solving, critical
thinking and decision-making besides professional competencies required at
the workplace (communication, teamwork, flexibility, the ability to learn….).
Nowadays,
researchers and educators of engineering sciences need to face new challenges
(changes in society and economy, recruiting requirements, student expectations,
new technologies, etc…). But on other hand, they have the opportunity to
explore a multitude of teaching toolkits: Online courses, Serious games, Open
Educational Resources, Massive Open Online Courses, YouTube videos TED talks, ….
So, educators need to rethink pedagogy and be creative to offer, to students,
new and great learning experience.
This video review some recent research done in the area of innovative pedagogy and
identify key practices to integrate into the teaching process to improve the learning
experience for engineering students.
